OUR STORY
In 1998 God gave us a vision to reach messed up Asians for Christ; prayers were given and plans made. Step Off had its opening service two months later. What began with two people and a vision has blossomed into something beyond our initial dreams. In 2008 we knew God was calling us to minister to a wider variety of messed up people. As our church grew so did our reach. We realized God wanted us to not only reach young gang members but all sorts of messed up people. We love the lost and hurting and God has opened our hearts to come along side any who need him.

From the beginning, God’s plans have been bigger than any of our resources or abilities. He has literally given us a heart to reach people in every city across America. We are talking about hundreds of thousands of souls. The enormity of the task demands that we throw tradition and caution to the wind and lean totally on God to fulfill this vision. We will use any legitimate means to bring someone to our church so that they can hear the Gospel; this includes: music, video games, dancing, tattoos, whatever!

Already, God has blessed our faithfulness to His vision. We have the opportunity to see the worst of society come to Christ on a weekly basis. Young people, who had been incarcerated, used and dealt drugs and terrorized others, are being touched by God’s grace through this ministry. Men and women who have wrecked their lives with drinking, self obsession and sinful lifestyles have come to meet the living Lord though this church.

God is using Step Off Ministry in a powerful way and we count it a privilege to serve him.

MISSION STATEMENT – REACH & TEACH
We want to reach the lost and hurting through the Gospel of Christ and teach them to follow his Word.

TARGET POPULATION
We focus on Asian-Americans who, for one reason or another, have messed up their lives. For some it is drugs or alcohol, for others it is gangs or jail, but the problems are limitless. The one common denominator is that they are completely lost without Jesus Christ.

MINISTRY PHILOSOPHY
The Bible is the authority in everything we do. We are willing to prayerfully attempt any new type of ministry, even if it goes against tradition, provided it is not unbiblical. Our church is designed to reach a specific audience and will use any legitimate means to do so. We are dedicated to integrating creativity, love and passion for the sake of winning the lost. All of our staff members and leaders will be serving as life models to the congregation as well as to the community at large.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe…

• The Scriptures, both Old and New
• Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
• In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• That Jesus is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins, according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Advocate.
• That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
• That man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
• That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God, confirming their place in eternal heaven.
• That water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.
• That the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head.
• That only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church.
• That Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church, and every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
• In the personal and premillennial and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and that this “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
• In the bodily resurrection of the dead; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, of the unbeliever to the judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.
