Pastoral Training

This is our most serious bible study program at Step Off Ministry, designed to emulate some of the course requirements one would be expected to complete throughout a 3-year Masters program at a theological seminary. Not everyone is expected to participate in this study, but for those who are interested in and committed to both studying God’s word in depth and also studying a survey of relevant academic fields (Bible Interpretation, Preaching, Apologetics, Theology, etc.), this is the course for you.

Participants of this course are asked to follow a strict Bible reading schedule which will cover every book in the Bible and at least 6 different books for additional outside reading. All of this will be completed over the course of 6 semesters (a total of 3 years). In addition, there will also be homework assignments related to the outside reading which must be completed in order to earn credit for each Pastoral Training semester.

For Pastoral Training, all participants are required to complete the assigned readings and homework before each class and then faithfully attend classes.

Pastoral Training currently follows a semester system calendar. The semesters run from September to December and then again from February to May. Each semester is 12 weeks long. Currently, the class meets on Fridays from 9:00pm to 11:00pm
