Read Pray Love

The name captures it all. Our goal at Step Off Ministry is to have our members connect to one another on a deeper and more serious level as well as help keep each other accountable to involving our Lord in our lives throughout the week outside of Sunday Worship Service. In an effort to help facilitate this, our church has created Read Pray Love, a small group ministry that is committed to allowing our church member to meet together during the week, read and discuss a small part of God’s Word, pray for one another, and just connect and show love to one another.

Read Pray Love will officially run throughout the year in 3 month blocks from January to March and then again from July to September, taking 3-month breaks in the other months (Apr – May and Oct – Dec).

The Read Pray Love small groups are self-formed groups of 3 to 6 people (not too small, but not too big). Find a group of people, work out a good meeting time and location among your group, and sign up with one of the pastors of Step Off. All that we ask is that you stay committed to meeting with your group weekly for the entire 3 month session of Read Pray Love (groups may be changed for the next 3-month block).

Unlike some church small group meetings, Read Pray Love will not have a single group leader who hosts other members at his or her home (although groups are more than welcome to meet in homes if they would prefer). Since there is no official small group leader, we ask that all of the members of each group hold each other accountable to the weekly Scripture reading and discussion (it will not be long at all). Your task is to read the short passage sometime during the week and then reflect on the passages meaning and application to your life or in general. Every week, additional pastoral insights and commentary will be uploaded here for you to use as reference in your thinking and meditation. At your group’s meeting, be prepared to share some of the thoughts of your reflection and be prepared to answer this one question: “What came to mind as you were reading and reflecting on the passage this week?”
